Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it under consideration by another journal.
  • The manuscript file is submitted in Microsoft Word or RTF format and has been anonymized for double-blind peer review.
  • The text is formatted in Times New Roman (12 pt), double-spaced, with footnotes in 10 pt, following Chicago Notes style.
  • The manuscript adheres to the Chicago Manual of Style (Notes and Bibliography), including full citations and a complete bibliography.
  • The submission fits within the journal’s scope and complies with the appropriate word limits.
  • All quotations, transliterations, and languages are used consistently and according to scholarly standards.
  • All figures, tables, and illustrations are properly numbered, captioned, and permissions have been obtained where necessary.
  • The manuscript complies with the journal’s ethical standards, including proper source attribution and transparency.

THE CHINGGISID HISTORY AND HERITAGE JOURNAL STYLE GUIDE

1. JOURNAL PROFILE

The Chinggisid History and Heritage Journal is a peer-reviewed scholarly publication dedicated to the study of Chinggis Khaan, the Mongol Empire, Inner Asian history, and related Eurasian civilizations.

Given the journal’s historical, philological, and source-based focus, it adopts the Chicago Manual of Style (Notes and Bibliography) system.

2. SCOPE OF SUBMISSIONS

The journal publishes:

  • Historical research articles
  • Source-based studies
  • Philological and textual analyses
  • Translation studies with commentary
  • Archaeological and art-historical research
  • Review essays and critical editions

10. ETHICAL AND SOURCE TRANSPARENCY

Authors must:

  • Clearly identify primary and secondary sources
  • Disclose archival restrictions
  • Acknowledge prior translations or editions
  • Follow the MIU Ethics and Malpractice Policy
